For the first time in Bulgaria after 55 years: Sensational edition of “Alice” with illustrations by Dali

--

The first edition for Bulgaria of “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll with illustrations by Salvador Dali enters the bookstores. The sensational project was carried out by the “List” publishing house, which obtained the rights for the reproductions after nearly three years of negotiations. “The edition is exceptional, we also ordered a special paper for it, which comes closest to the original book,” announced Gergana Dimitrova – editor-in-chief of “List”.

The 144-page volume comes in a 16.5 x 23.5 cm hardcover format. The magnificent translation of Lazar Goldman, with which several generations of readers have loved Alice’s adventures, is used.

The ingenious surrealist created 12 heliogravures – one for each chapter of the book for a limited edition, published in 1969 in a circulation of 2,700 copies. In them Dali inserted images and messages from his most famous works.
