The author’s one-man show “Mercury”, which appeared a few months ago in the form of the book “Mercury. The Novel” from the publishing house “Siela”, is again on stage, but this time with a cause. The performance by Dimitar Zhivkov is in support of the National Competition in Creative Writing in English, organized by the “Corps for Education and Development – KORPluS” Foundation.
The charity performance will be held on November 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Mark Art Center at 30 Yanko Sakazov Blvd.
With every ticket purchased, viewers will support the talent of up-and-coming writers, with the funds raised going towards the costs of the competition’s award ceremony.
The price of the tickets is BGN 30, and all guests will also receive two tickets for a charity raffle with many prizes, the organizers specify.
The performance lasts 1 hour 50 minutes. The text and performance are by Dimitar Zhivkov, and the director is Dimitar Stefanov.
The performance “Zivak” is dedicated to the Vratchan mentality, sense of humor and worldview. Three stories tracing different unique human destinies, played with pathos and mastery. A struggle with the reflections of our lives that become life itself, unfortunately. A story about how remembering our roots and our true feelings can revive us.
The national creative writing competition is a different opportunity to improve the English language skills of Bulgarian students, which stimulates the expression of non-standard thinkers among them and supports their personal development. Every year, thousands of students from all over the country unleash their imaginations and create magical worlds within an hour. In 2023, the competition will be held for the 14th consecutive year, with over 3,700 students from 147 schools across the country taking part in 2022.
