The ironic essay “Bulgarian Selfie” by poet Ivan Landzhev, read by actor Zahari Baharov, became a hit on social networks.

The essay is part of Landjev’s new book, “On the Inevitable Contingency.”

The text has been read thousands of times. Now this text is getting a new boost and hundreds of users are sharing it online in Bakharov’s performance.

“The Americans want to enslave me – once and for all. The Russians want to free me – forever. Eurogays want to change my sex. And take my child. I want my children to study in the West. I hate the West.

I want to stand up to his tyranny. But even if the visas fall. The Turks want me back. The Greeks want me not to come back next summer. Macedonians do not recognize my history – I do not recognize their country. Never mind that I was the first to admit it to them at one time.

I want to leave us and the European Union. But the Macedonians should not enter!”, it says at the beginning of the essay.
