Assoc. Dr. Vasil Hadjiiliev presents his book “In the land of the Soviets – 80 years later” to the Kazan audience

“Iskra” Municipal Library again invites you to a meeting with Assoc. Dr. Vasil Hadjiiliev and a presentation of his new book “In the Land of the Soviets – 80 Years Later” to a Kazanlak public.

The book was inspired by the book published in 1936 by the world famous chemist Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov “In the Land of the Soviets”. The professor visited the USSR in 1935, as the only Bulgarian invited to an international congress on physiology. Asen Zlatarov fascinatingly tells about everything seen and heard in Moscow and Leningrad (now Petersburg).

The author of “In the land of the Soviets – 80 years later” Assoc. Dr. Vasil Hadjiiliev, also a chemist, graduate of the University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”, on similar occasions – chemistry congresses in Moscow, Minsk and Ulyanovsk, visited Russia in the period 2012-2018. Everything seen and heard during his meetings with people from university circles and ordinary citizens of Russia is recreated in his book. The modern aspects of life in Russia are revealed, and the parallel of 80 years will bring us back to that time again, but with the eyes of a contemporary. An unforgettable journey by ship along the Volga is also described, which ends with a long walk in the lands of the Volga Bulgarians – Kazan, Elabuga, Bilyar and Bulgar.
