The third generation of the compact SUV debuted in Europe with gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a hybrid drive
Pre-sales for the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan began today in Europe. The third generation of Volkswagen’s compact SUV has been redesigned and improved in all areas. The new hybrid drive with an all-electric range of around 100 km makes the new model even more efficient. The new intuitive cockpit design brings even more digital services and applications on board.

The latest generation of the Park Assist system automates entry and exit from parking spaces. The new DCC Pro adaptive chassis optimizes comfort and dynamics. Features such as pneumatic massage for the front seats and new intelligent HD matrix headlights are taken directly from the premium Touareg model. The basic version of the Volkswagen Tiguan with 130 hp. and a 48-volt mild hybrid system will be available in Germany at prices starting at €36,600.

The confident design is typical of both Volkswagen and Tiguan, but here the design is completely new. A distinctive feature is the taller and more powerful-looking front end. The standard LED headlights are integrated here. The traditional radiator grille between the headlights is replaced by a glass-covered horizontal strip with an optional LED strip.
The new Tiguan is available as an option with the new intelligent HD matrix headlights. This high-tech lighting system with 38,400 multi-pixel LEDs is taken directly from the flagship Touareg. The clean front design highlights the fact that the drag coefficient has improved from 0.33 to 0.28.

Athletic shoulder pieces above the fenders dominate the silhouette and make it look muscular. The rims are up to 20 inches in size. A horizontal LED strip between the rear lights emphasizes the width of the new rear of the Tiguan.
Designers from Volkswagen have also completely redesigned the interior of the Tiguan. With its high-quality materials and high-quality finish, it goes beyond the conventional boundaries of the class. The components of the latest infotainment system are brought together on board to create a clearly designed and tightly integrated cockpit design that is intuitive to operate.

The modules include the new digital instruments with anti-reflective coating in tablet format and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a completely new menu structure and graphics. A 15-inch screen, a new projection Head-up display and a new multi-function switch with an integrated OLED display are available as options.
The new IDA voice assistant can be used to easily control countless car functions using natural language, such as navigation or air conditioning, or even to ask general questions that need to be answered from the Internet.

The new optional ergoActive Plus seats with four-way pneumatic lumbar adjustment and a pneumatic 10-chamber pressure massage function are a perfect match for the premium character of this SUV. In addition, seat heating and ventilation can be activated automatically depending on the outside temperature.
The all-new Volkswagen Tiguan will be available with eight different mild hybrid powertrains (eTSI), plug-in hybrid systems (eHybrid), turbocharged gasoline engines (TSI) and turbocharged diesel engines (TDI).

The two new 48-volt mild hybrid powertrains will be available to order immediately, with the eTSI versions delivering 130 hp. and 150 hp, and have automatic active cylinder control ACT. Both Tiguan eTSI variants combine their high efficiency with excellent take-off performance.
Already at market launch, the new Tiguan can also be optioned with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 2.0 TDI turbodiesel engine delivering 150 hp. The other drivetrain versions will be introduced in 2024. These include new plug-in hybrid drives for the Tiguan with an all-electric range of around 100km.

Thanks to the long electric range and the new DC fast charging function with up to 50 kW, the hybrid SUV Tiguan eHybrid becomes an electric car in everyday use. All Tiguan models come standard with a direct-shift DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
All four trim levels – Tiguan, Life, Elegance and R-Line are available at the start of pre-sales. The base version of the Tiguan is now equipped with standard details such as the new 12.9-inch digital cockpit, infotainment system, driving mode switch, Car2X warning system, additional front central airbag and rear side airbags, automatic climate control, USB -C ports with 45-watt charging capacity on the front and black roof rails.

Standard assistance systems include lane change assistant, emergency braking system, lane departure warning, rear view camera system and traffic sign recognition system. LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels are also standard.
The middle version of the Tiguan – Life, includes the following additional features: three-zone climate control, comfortable front seats, variable floor of the luggage compartment, automatic parking assistant, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, wireless integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electric folding exterior mirrors, side lighting with illuminated door handles and motif projection from the exterior mirror housings and 17-inch Venezia alloy wheels.

The top Elegance and R-Line versions have additional equipment such as LED Plus headlights, including a horizontal LED strip front and rear, a backlight package with three light zones and 30 colors, as well as ergoActive front seats with a massage function.
In the Elegance level, the new Tiguan is also equipped with an electrically opening and closing trunk lid, including the Easy Open function by foot gesture, Park Assist Plus with memory function, silver roof rails, elegant microfiber seat covers, acoustic blackout rear windows, a winter package with heated seats and heated washer jets, and 18-inch Napoli design alloy wheels.

In contrast, the Tiguan R-Line is characterized by additional elements such as bumpers, roof spoiler and side panels in the R-Line design and a specific R-Line interior with sports seats and 19-inch Coventry design alloy wheels.
The new Tiguan R-Line can also be customized with the Black Style package. Among other things, it includes black 19-inch alloy wheels and black gloss moldings for the windows and exterior mirror housings.
