“The new Grandland is particularly important for Opel. With it, every Opel model without exception is available in an electric version. This is a big step in our direction for the full electrification of the brand. The new Grandland is designed and developed in Rüsselsheim and will be manufactured in Eisenach . The connection to the Opel Experimental is there. It offers innovations that were first seen in this extraordinary concept car. The new Grandland will strengthen our position in the important C-SUV segment.”said Opel CEO Florian Hütl.

The designers from Rüsselsheim have developed an impressive look for the new Opel Grandland, which immediately attracts attention. The new model boasts larger dimensions, with the length of the car increased by 173mm to 4,650mm, the width increased by 64mm to 1,905mm and the height increased by 19mm to 1,660mm. Combined with the 20-inch alloy wheels, the new Opel Grandland stands boldly and confidently at the top of the brand’s range.

The new rendition of the distinctive face of the Opel brand with 3D Vizor makes an impression. This element of the car’s exterior, combined with the illuminated Opel lightning bolt logo and the luminous strips of the lights make it even more striking. The new Grandland adopts the design introduced by the Opel Experimental concept model. It is based on the principles of geometric lines, with all elements organized horizontally, aligned with the glowing emblem with the lightning bolt in the center.

The new illuminated logo is also accompanied by another lighting innovation developed by engineers in Rüsselsheim, which debuted at Grandland. It is the automotive industry’s leading intelligent pixel matrix light system. It offers a total of 51,200 elements or 25,600 LED elements on each side for high resolution light distribution.

Depending on the road conditions, approaching and oncoming objects are detected by the camera and the pixel matrix system cuts out these objects even more precisely than standard matrix lights. This ensures bright illumination of the road without dazzling other road users. The model features new animations that welcome and send off the driver and his companions for welcome and farewell.

With its two-tone roof and contrasting design, the new Grandland features an elongated and elegant silhouette. The sharp lines of the fender arches distinguish the car and visually emphasize its wheels. The long wheelbase of 2784 mm and the beveled rear cover reveal the spaciousness of the passenger compartment and the possibilities of placing cargo in the trunk. The rear seats can be folded in a 40:20:40 ratio and expand the trunk volume to 1,641 liters.

At the back of the car is an illuminated OPEL inscription, as part of the geometry called a compass by the brand’s designers. Fully in line with Opel’s approach to being clean, protecting the environment and reducing the used resources associated with the car, the model name is no longer spelled out in chrome letters, but is instead centrally stamped on the tailgate.

Inside the car, the passengers of the new Opel Grandland will be impressed by even bolder and clean elements in combination with a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Architecturally, the interior layout emphasizes a horizontal theme, with lines running through the dashboard to the doors, enhancing the sense of width and spaciousness, while the slightly driver-oriented 16-inch center display and tall center console create a sports car feel.

Behind the steering wheel is a discreetly sized and fully digital panel that provides important information about the car, allowing the driver to focus on driving pleasure. Thanks to the intelligent projection head-up display, the need for the driver to take his eyes off the road is avoided. Drivers also have the option to manually or automatically activate Pure Mode. It reduces the content of the driver information screen, head-up projection and central display, providing even less distraction when driving at night or in the rain.

The most frequently used settings, such as climate control, can be operated intuitively via physical buttons. The side vents are integrated into the door, which visually emphasizes the width of the instrument panel. The upper part of the dashboard has a beautiful design and is aesthetically divided into two surfaces to emphasize the overall look. In addition to this, ambient lighting, which is based on the same technology used on the Vizor, adds color and light to the cabin, integrated into the dashboard and doors.

The interior provides an engaging and comfortable driving experience. Opel’s ergonomic seats enjoy an award-winning reputation, and the new Grandland continues this long-standing tradition. The seats are Institute for Healthy Backs (AGR) certified and introduce new electric bolsters for proximity comfort. This feature greatly improves the lateral adjustment of the position, thanks to two pneumatic pockets located in the lateral supports of the backrest.

The seats offer ventilation and massage for the driver. Thought has also been given to rear passengers, who are provided with additional legroom compared to the previous model. The patented Intelli-Seat front seat feature, a slot that relieves pressure on the coccyx, is now standard on the new Grandland and provides optimal comfort even on long highway journeys. All interior fabrics are made from recycled materials.

As a family-oriented car, the new Opel Grandland places a strong focus on functionality in the cabin. The goal is not only to provide plenty of storage and convenience, but also to provide innovative solutions that make traveling easier. The highlight of these smart solutions is called the Pixel Box. With the lighted translucent glass and nice shell, this item not only enhances the visual appeal of the console, but is also very functional.

The wireless smartphone charger is located behind the glass so that devices can be charged while stored safely. The constant visibility of the smartphone also ensures that it will not be forgotten in the vehicle when you leave Grandland. In total, the new Opel model offers more than 35 liters of interior storage compartments – from the Pixel Box through the phone pockets in the front seat backrests to the large storage area under the center console, which also has an integrated 12-volt outlet.

The next generation of the Opel Grandland represents an important step for the brand in making electric mobility an even more attractive way to get around. It is the first Opel to benefit from Stellantis’ own STLA Medium platform.

Thanks to the new architecture, the flat battery with a capacity of up to 98 kWh, the electric motor of the new generation and the energy-saving functions of the heat pump, the new Opel Grandland Electric will be able to provide an autonomous range of up to about 700 kilometers without harmful emissions. Loading is also optimized. At a fast public station, it will only take about 26 minutes to recharge from 20 to 80% of battery capacity.

Customers who prefer another type of drivetrain to a purely electric option will also find what they are looking for. The new Grandland Plug-in Hybrid offers up to 85 km of range without local emissions and is charged at the socket. If you don’t want to charge the car at the outlet, the new Opel Grandland Hybrid with 48-volt technology runs on a petrol engine and provides driving pleasure while limiting fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

While the new Opel Grandland strives to reduce emissions, it guarantees dynamic and comfortable driving pleasure. This is possible thanks to shock absorbers with the most innovative technology, which are used in the chassis. This unique technology creates a second hydraulic circuit in the damping chamber to mechanically adapt the damping force to frequency.

Depending on the situation, road surface conditions and driving style, it allows different characteristics of the shock absorbers for comfortable sliding at high frequencies, i.e. with short impacts, such as on cobbles or a manhole cover, and for a sporty, ambitious driving style with more direct contact with the road at low frequencies.

The new Opel Grandland reacts immediately and directly to every command from the driver and remains stable when braking, cornering and at high speeds on the autobahn. The suspension has been supplemented with specific springs, a new stabilizer bar, new steering and ESC system tuning.

The new Opel Grandland is complemented by a wide range of driver assistance systems, including automatic cruise control with stop-and-go function, traffic sign recognition system, intelligent speed adaptation and collision braking to help avoid secondary collision in the event of an accident. They all come as standard equipment.

As an option, the intelligent driving system is available, which integrates numerous electronic assistants and combines them with a semi-automatic lane change assistant and recommended speed adaptation. If the target lane is free, the assistant steers the Grandland into the desired lane with small movements of the steering wheel.

Recommended speed adaptation ensures that, if confirmed by the driver, the vehicle’s speed is reduced accordingly when a new speed limit is reached or increased to this limit. In addition to sensors, the system also uses information from the wireless network. Parking and maneuvering are also made easier by the front and rear sensors, the rearview camera with automatic cleaning function and the 360-degree camera.

Thanks to its state-of-the-art new platform, ground-breaking technologies combined with numerous design features first implemented in the Opel Experimental concept car, the new Opel Grandland is positioned at the head of the brand’s range, guaranteeing a new higher level for all and electric mobility following Opel’s current electrification strategy.
