The G-Class is a benchmark for history, heritage, fandom, the “old school”… But this does not mean that the new time and realities will pass it by, on the contrary, with a huge dose of self-confidence, Mercedes-Benz presented the electric G-Klasse.

Leaving aside the strange name Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology, it is the technological solutions that catch our attention. And because of which Edition One starts at a price of 192,524 euros. Who wants, and there will be no shortage of them. For those with more modest dimensions, there is also a standard model, the price of which started from 142,621 euros in Germany.

What will this money be given for? First of all, because the “Cube” comes with 4 electric motors. Their system power is 580 hp, but more importantly, the torque amounts to 1164 Nm.

There are also several completely new technologies that are only available for the electric G. The car has virtual differential locks, which are achieved by dynamically distributing the torque between the wheels with the help of the electric motors.

In addition, there are several functions specifically for off-road – G-Turn, G-Steering and “crawling”. The first allows turning, or rather turning, in place like a tank. The second uses 4-wheel steering to reduce the turning radius and make it easier to maneuver in tight spaces. The third makes it easier to climb and descend. G-Roar is a feature that will make a special sound from the G-Class.

The G-Class is not a sprinter, never has been, so we will mention that the acceleration to 100 km/h is 4.6 seconds. More importantly, the electric G-Class was developed specifically for off-road adventures. It can “wade” in water with a depth of 85 cm – more than even its fellows with DVG. It will also handle 45 degree slopes.
