The 52-year-old actress opened up about it during her appearance on the MeSsy podcast with Jamie Lynn Sigler.
Applegate has revealed that she suffered severe food poisoning after eating a takeout salad from a restaurant.
At the time, she was also battling COVID-19 after contracting it from a friend.
The actress took a stool test which confirmed that she was infected with sapovirus and the disease subsequently made her feel extremely ill.
“I was so dizzy. I was so sick, I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t do anything,” Applegate said.

“I didn’t know it happened and I was trying to change my sheets — not fun, but that brings me to the next point in our conversation: I wear diapers,” she shares.
Christina previously admitted that because of her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, she often can’t make it to the bathroom in time and therefore wears adult diapers even when she’s not suffering from food poisoning.
“Adult diapers are usually pink,” said Jamie Lynn Sigler. They usually have some kind of ribbon or floral design around the pelvic area. And honestly, Kristina and I have talked about this — if you put on an adult diaper, you can’t feel sexy .”
“You’re never going to put something like this on and say, ‘I’m ready for the day’… It’s something you have to wear because your body isn’t functioning properly,” she adds.
