Ivo Arakov, who works not only in “Like Two Drops of Water” on Nova TV, but also on bTV as the rescuer Mladen in the series “Sunny Beach”, has recently gained speed and energy in his incarnations. Already 15 years ago, it became clear that he was good at acting, when he received praise from the world playwright Edward Albee for his role in his play “The Goat, or Who is Sylvia” at the National. Later – because of women’s stories and sick ambitions, Arkov left the state for the Small City Theater “Behind the Canal” and put his career on hold.

After a series of love affairs, he returned to the spotlight, and last year he became the father of a boy. Now it is curious if he will ask for the hand of Gabriela, the mother of his child. “I have mixed feelings about marriage because I have some experience. You don’t need a certificate to love someone,” he commented. It turned out that Arakov’s ex-wife, a beautiful and rich Russian woman, had died in London. He does not hide that he was in shock, although they were officially separated already. He does not hide one more thing – that love has sometimes turned him into a madman.

“When I fall in love, I become stupid and I am ready for anything for the woman next to me,” he admitted. The whole of Bulgaria became convinced of this when he developed a romance with Mika Stoichkova and they began to pretend to be a Hollywood couple. But Arakov could not bear the advantages of such a coexistence. Among other things, it was suspected that he was targeting Stoichkov’s connections in the States in order to get his hands on some Latin series. Mika later said nobly that Ivo was a great guy, but at that moment they were reading from different pages in the book of love.

In every boyhood or professional adventure, Ivo always received the full support of his mother and sister. “Since he was a child, he was very sensitive, unpredictable and terribly mischievous,” his parent said. “At 12, I asked to work to help my family. The boys from the neighborhood and I used to steal iron and sell it. We also brought walnuts from foreign trees to the market. The law enforcement agencies approached us several times and we tamed ourselves. At 18, I came to Sofia to apply to NATFIZ. I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted, but I was alone like a dog and I suffered a lot. I wrote letters to my mother almost every day. I began to lose ground under my feet and fall down. It took a lot of will and courage to get out,” Ivo was sincere. He was saved from depression by his sister Nadezhda, who settled in Sofia because of him.

“Everyone in the family is very artistic. My great-grandfather is from Kalofer – he had rose gardens, he was a serious businessman. My great-grandmother is like the godmother of Hristo Botev. The two houses were separated only by a fence. When I was a child, we went to live in Rostov-on-Don – my father is Russian. In the 90s, the situation there was quite dramatic. Gangs ran rampant in the streets. We returned to Bulgaria, and dad forced himself to become a glazier. My mother kept my spirits up – she composed poems, sewed theater costumes”, Ivo described his personal dramas. He always wanted to be an actor.

“At the Varna school “The Golden Key” of Katya and Sia Papazovi, my first monologue was Romeo. I traveled from Beloslav for the rehearsals, and during the vacations I worked to be economically independent. I have been a general laborer, a baker, a cook, I have taken bartending and waitering courses. While I was mixing cocktails, I was learning my lines.’ Then he and his father planted vineyards, made wine and brandy, but before long they sold everything.

While filming in the movie “Sneakers” on the beach near Karadere, he is like a child of the wild nature – he and his colleagues are completely covered in sand and mud. One night someone sets fire to a nearby forest. Ivo was just dreaming about his beloved dolphin from the former lake in Beloslav, when Ivan, the son of Teddy Moskov and Maya Novoselska, bursts into the tent to save him from the fire. It is not only because of this incident that Arakov believes that we should love each other. He also writes poems, maybe one day he will publish them in a collection.
