The Queen will be sent off with dignity

Today, September 15th, however, King Charles and Queen Camilla stepped down from them.

The two are at their beloved Gloucestershire country residence of Highgrove, where Charles must reflect on his mother’s death and his upcoming duties as king. He has even already received the famous red box that carries the current monarch’s business documents for the day.

His retreat to Highgrove for a day is not some arbitrariness, but part of Operation London Bridge, a detailed plan of what should happen after the death of Elizabeth II. In it, a day without public engagements is planned for the new king.
