Three finals and two bronze medals secured our national titles today after the series of semi-finals of the 37th edition of the international boxing tournament “Felix Strain”, reported BF Boxing. Under the guidance of Borislav Georgiev and Roman Tsvetkov, our girls had good matches and continued with its successful performance in Poland.

In category up to 57 kilograms Svetlana Kamenova tackled local hopeful Yulia Sheremeta. The World Championship bronze medalist once again showed her class and overcame her opponent’s sometimes dirty play to reach the final. On Friday, she will argue for the gold with classy Frenchwoman Amina Zidani.

At 50-kilogram Zlatislava Chukanova reached the final, and Venelina Poptoleva had to settle for bronze. In the first match, Zlati did not leave a chance to the Pole Natalia Kuchevska. She dominated the ring and secured a fight for the gold, where she will meet the other local representative – Natalya Rock. She broke Poptoleva’s resistance and thus we missed the opportunity to have a Bulgarian final in the category.

Stanimira Petrova will also box for the gold. In the category up to 54 kilograms, the world and European champion and 4-time winner of the “Strandja” Cup qualified for the final after giving no chances to the Croatian Nikolina Čacic. She will face Poland’s Viktoria Rogalinska on Friday.

S Aslhan Mehmedova was congratulated for the bronze award. In a very contested meeting in the 60-kilogram category, she lost to the third from the World Championship last year – Alessia Messiano / Italy/.
