On May 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a national campaign “May Month for Measurement” was held in the kindergarten opposite the “Moscow” restaurant.
The initiative under the motto “Measurement that saves life. Yours.” took place with the active participation of the volunteers from the club of the BMCHK “Bialata Lastovitsa” at the “Yordan Yovkov” SU – Kardzhali.
The participants were informed about the risks of hypertension, the importance and increasing importance of measuring blood pressure and maintaining a healthy lifestyle were emphasized. The measurement was performed with electronic devices equipped with AFIB-technology for the detection of atrial fibrillation, without an ECG.
May Measure Month is the largest global health initiative that aims to raise public awareness of the need for blood pressure screening and control
pressure. Screening studies at the initiative of the Bulgarian Hypertension League and partners, conducted in public places over the years, testify to a high incidence of hypertension and insufficient control of complications that have already occurred. It motivates
the annual holding of national information campaigns and mass blood pressure measurements in Bulgaria.
