
Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Nikolay Naydenov took part in the International Transport Forum, which is being held from May 24 to 26, 2023 in Leipzig, Germany, the relevant ministry informed. At the event, he expressed Bulgaria’s readiness to continue work on the main priorities set in the international transport system. Naydenov stated that in recent years the Bulgarian country has invested in modernizing its own transport infrastructure, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTS) also indicated.
“In order to achieve sustainable mobility and high efficiency, efforts must be directed to overcoming the main challenges facing the development of the sector, through modernization, implementation of intelligent transport systems, increasing the competitiveness of transport companies and limiting the harmful impact on the environment” , the deputy minister pointed out.
He expressed confidence that all transport challenges will be overcome with joint efforts.
The main goal of the forum is to develop successful transport policies that will improve the way of life, as well as to promote the role of transport in the economic plan, with the environment in mind, MTS also reported. From there, they add that during the forum in Leipzig, the membership of Brazil and Costa Rica was approved, with which the number of countries that are members of the International Transport Forum is already 66.
A few days ago, at a forum in Montenegro, Deputy Minister Naydenov commented that Bulgaria is working hard on the modernization of the railway section Sofia – border with the Republic of Serbia.
