A 17-year-old youth was found driving an unregistered moped after using narcotic substances and without a driver’s license, the police in Ruse announced.
On May 24, at around 03:50 a.m., a team of Parvo RU and the “Road Police” sector checked a Peugeot moped driver on “Slavyanski” Blvd. in Ruse, in the area of the intersection with “Kostinbrod” St. In the course of the inspection, the uniformed officers found that he was 17 years old and had no legal capacity. They also suspected that the teenager had used narcotic substances. The test made with a technical device confirmed their suspicions – the device reported a positive result for cannabis and methamphetamine. The young man voluntarily handed over to the police a metal grinder and a ball of dry green grass, which he claimed was marijuana. During the additional inquiries, it was also clarified that the registration plate placed on the moped was issued for another motor vehicle – moped brand “Karpati”, and in addition, the moped does not have a valid “Civil Liability” insurance. He was issued a voucher for a medical examination, but at Kanev Hospital he refused to give samples for chemical analysis.
In this case, an expedited proceeding for a crime was initiated under Article 343b paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code, Article 345 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 345 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code. A file was also filed for a crime under Art. 354a, para. 5 of the Criminal Code.
