Three meritorious figures in healthcare, visual and theater arts – Dr. Ventsislav Ankov, Evgeni Kuchkov and Yuli Puhalski, who were recently awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Mezdra”, received their awards, reports the Municipality of Mezdra. This happened at the May session of the Municipal Council. The awards were presented by the mayor of the municipality of Mezdra, Ivan Asparuhov, and the chairman of the Municipal Council, Yana Ninova.
“The awarding of the title of “Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Mezdra” has become a tradition in the month of the “Mezdra-May” cultural holidays. An appreciation to all those who left a part of themselves here, left a mark in the history of our municipality. Let’s not we forget that Mezdra is a responsibility, Mezdra is a cause, Mezdra is love! With gratitude to the people who contributed to the better future of Mezdra, we pay tribute to you, our new honorary citizens,” said during the ceremony Yana Ninova.
The long-time surgeon at the Multispecialty Hospital for Active Treatment – Mezdra Dr. Vencislav Ankov was awarded the title for overall contribution to health care in the municipality of Mezdra.
“I want to thank the municipal councilors, the Chairman of the Municipal Council, the mayor, for this great and prestigious award. When I receive this award, I cannot help but turn to my colleagues at the hospital, with whom we have worked for years, years ok for health care in the municipality. Thank you,” said Dr. Ankov upon receiving the award.
The artist Evgeny Kuchkov was awarded the title for his outstanding merits and special contribution to the spiritual life of the municipality.
“I do not consider this award to be my own. This award is in memory of mother and father… These are the people who created two boys and raised them in patriotism and hard work. I don’t know another family that has two sons – both honorary citizens of this city. This is in their memory,” said the artist excitedly.
The theater director Yuli Puhalski also received the high distinction for his outstanding merits and special contribution to the spiritual life of the municipality:
“I am sincerely surprised to be given such an honor, ladies and gentlemen, I did not even think of it. And when one night I went to bed like a respectable citizen and said, “Good night!” to my wife, and the next morning I I woke up like an honorary citizen, I felt like a fish out of water – I didn’t know what to say, I couldn’t speak… Now that I’m back in the “water”, the more difficult thing remains – to remain an honorable, if honorable, citizen of Mezdra. Thank you with all my heart and soul! Happy May 24 “on crutches”! Congratulations on the award to Georgi Gospodinov and to all of us – the “Booker” prize! Thank you!”
