Increased demand for real estate has recently been observed in Momchilovtsi, mayor Siika Surkova told BTA. According to her, the trend to move the property market is mainly due to the pandemic of COVID-19, after which many are returning to more peaceful places to live, close to nature. A young family of IT specialists are the newest residents of Momchilovtsi practicing their profession remotely.

The demand for both agricultural land and regulated properties is increasing, the mayor explains. The interest is mainly from people returning after working abroad and from young families looking for a more pastoral place to raise their children.

A famous Bulgarian vlogger has already chosen Momchilovtsi and lives with his family in the village.

Is the country house a good investment?

His video messages from the Rhodopes further provoke interest in this place. The advantage is that there is a school and good social infrastructure in Momchilovtsi, and the proximity to Smolyan provides all the amenities and services, the town hall specifies.

The minimum purchase prices for agricultural land in the Momchilovtsi area are around BGN 15 per square meter. Properties under regulation are traded at values ​​of at least 25-30 euros per square meter.
