The Ruse Opera will present the concert “Maria Callas – the voice of the century” this evening in the Philharmonia Hall in the Danube city. This was announced by the PR of the cultural institute, Diana Dimitrova.
The program includes arias and duets by Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, Saint-Saëns, Massenet and Puccini, which were part of the repertoire of the famous opera singer Maria Callas.
The concert will feature tenor and pianist Georgios Philadelphevs, soprano Tsvetelina Vasileva, tenor Boris Lukov. The conductor of the orchestra of the Ruse Opera will be Viliana Valcheva.
“I am very excited to participate in this concert because it is associated with the name of the greatest opera singer of all time,” says Tsvetelina Vasileva. In her words, Kalas is “the most influential performer in opera, the bible of opera.”
“As a person who holds memories and paintings of the singer Maria Kalas quite deep in his heart, I think that it will sound extremely interesting for the Ruse audience,” says Georgios Philadelphevs. According to him, the audience should expect a real journey into the world of the opera singer.
