Over 250 performers of Bulgarian folklore from Ukraine, Moldova, Bosilegrad, Serbia and over 350 performers from various cities in Bulgaria gathered for the 17th consecutive time in Kavarna the All-Bulgarian Youth Folklore Assembly “With Bulgaria in the Heart”.
From today until May 28, the city welcomes everyone who carries the motherland in their hearts. The program for the first day of the festival – May 26 (Friday) starts at 10 a.m. with a prayer for health and water.
The performances of the participants in the assembly start at 10:30 a.m. From 6:30 p.m., an official opening and a concert of the best participants of the day is planned, followed by the concert of folk singers Kichka Hristova, Nataliya and Tatiana Petkovi and Galina Durmushliyska. The day’s program ends with a dance party under the stars at 9:30 p.m.
On May 27 (Saturday) the program starts at 10 a.m. with the performances of the participants in the assembly. From 5:30 p.m., the selection of “Miss and Mr. Folklore”, a review of folk costumes, and a game called “Kršna Rachenitsa” are planned. The start of the gala concert is at 7 p.m.
The best participants during the day will take part in the first part of the concert, the finale of the evening will be a concert by Iliya Lukov, Veselka Stambolieva and Valeria Momchilova. On the last day of the festival, May 28 /Sunday/ from 10 a.m., performances by the participants in the assembly are scheduled .
This year the assembly is being held after a three-year hiatus. Children and youth from Bulgaria and abroad will take part during the three days of the folklore event. The assembly does not have a competitive nature, but the best performances during the day will be included in the solemn evening concerts.
This is the only assembly of its size that unites Bulgarian youth from all over the world on the basis of Bulgarian folklore. Established as traditional, the all-Bulgarian youth folklore gathering “With Bulgaria in the Heart” gathers over the years young people, descendants of Bulgarians, from Albania, Moldova, Ukraine, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia.
The motto of the assembly is “Bulgarian folklore – the most attractive card of Bulgaria”. A recital of the winners of the poem and essay competition under the title “With Bulgaria in the Heart” is planned, as well as an exhibition of the drawings that participated in the competition under the same title.
