Hundreds of children, students and parents joined the torchlight procession under the title “Let’s preserve the light”.
The festive column passed through the central pedestrian area and headed towards the monument of St. Sophronii Vrachanski, where the celebration on the occasion of the Day of People’s Awakeners was held.
“I want to thank you, because on the eve of November 1, we are together again! What provoked us to do the procession is the desire of many of you to honor the Bulgarian. I have always believed in the power of personal example. Many of us are outraged that today the little ones will be dressed in strange costumes. And what did we do to make all Bulgarian holidays interesting and fun for them? We should make it so that teenagers visit us at home dressed in folk costumes or revival costumes. To delight us by reciting verses. I believe we can be an example for our children! This parade is just the beginning! Let’s not forget that each of us who protects Bulgarian is a wake-up call! It depends on us what kind of people our children will become! Stay healthy and remember that the city will be as we make it!” – with these words, Kalin Kamenov greeted those present at the festive procession.
As part of the program, poems about Bulgarian writers were sung, and as a sign of respect and appreciation for the work and life of the patriotic educators, wreaths and flowers were presented in front of the monument of St. Sophronius Vrachanski.
On November 1, when we celebrate the Day of the People’s Awakeners, each school will place flowers in front of the monument of its patron.
