Gabrovo receives BGN 730,000 from the state because of the bankruptcy of the local heating system. The Cabinet provides the amount as an additional transfer to the budget of the Municipality of Gabrovo, the Ministry of Energy announced. The money will be used to help the company’s residential customers. They will not have heating during the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
Due to numerous problems with the heating service, the lack of investment, the repeated interruption of the heating supply in recent years and the depreciation of the network, it became clear earlier in the year that the district heating will not work in the coming winter.
“Toplofikatsia – Gabrovo” is ready to cease its activity
About 4,120 household customers of thermal energy in the territory of Gabrovo will benefit from the support. They will be compensated with the additional funds allocated today from the municipal budget.
We remind you that the program adopted by the government envisages that all household customers will receive a one-time fixed amount, determined on the basis of the average amount of heat energy consumed by them during the last three heating seasons.
The amount of assistance is calculated according to a special formula. It includes the price at which the electricity distribution company in Gabrovo sells electricity to final household customers for the period July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024. Also, the heat energy price approved by KEVR for “Toplofikatsia Gabrovo” EAD for the same price period.
