Trash cans, a cone, a sign and a red tape – a whole “composition” protects a part of a street in Plovdiv from parking by drivers. A woman from Plovdiv, who was surprised by the signs, shares about the case.

The situation is on “Bozhidar Zdravkov” street in front of the entrance to “Ana Mai” PGO. Vera A., who gives publicity to the sight, also wonders what is the reason for the steep measures.

“This is the entrance to the Anna Mai school, from Bozhidar Zdravkov Street. What does it mean to surround the entrance with garbage cans like this and to write “Do not park at the entrance”. Service subscription? Any new law?“, writes Vera A.

While some citizens remain surprised, others accept the facility with understanding. “At which school entrance is it allowed to stop?” writes a Plovdiv woman.

For example, it means that after school, and now the children are on vacation, now is the time for short-term repair work, and access is obviously needed, because some people get a parking space and don’t move for weeks,” suggests Delcho D.

“Is this how it is marked “Parking prohibited for repair works”? With trash cans? There are no warning signs, and the street is open to the public,” Vera A. asserts her position.

The topic of parking spaces in the city is sensitive for many citizens, and some resort to interesting solutions to reserve a space. Tubes, cassettes, etc. are only a small part of the means by which neighborhoods are saved. A practice that angers many of the locals.
