On November 1, the Municipality of Targovishte and the Municipal Council – Targovishte awarded the students who received scholarships under the Ordinance for the stimulation of children and youth with outstanding gifts.
At a solemn ceremony in the concert hall of the Center for Youth Activities and Initiatives (CMDI), diplomas were presented to all 73 children who receive a financial incentive. Their achievements are in the fields of Education, Science and Technology, Sports and Art and Culture.
Dr. Darin Dimitrov, elected for a third term as mayor of Targovishte, congratulated the honorees and wished them to preserve the alert and searching spirit that they carry within themselves.
“May you be able to develop your talents in the most correct way, so that you too will be satisfied and continue to bring pride to Targovishte,” said Dr. Dimitrov.
Dr. Dimitrov presented the diploma to Onur Hikmet, recipient of the highest distinction “Commercial Endowment”. Onur is a student in the 5th grade at the First Secondary School “St. Sevens”. He receives a financial incentive in the amount of three minimum wages. He is a competitor of the Tornado Gymnastics Club. In the last year, he won dozens of honors in state and international tournaments.
Annual scholarships in the amount of two minimum salaries are awarded to three students. Kiril Kirov, a student in the 7th grade at Hristo Botev Primary School, receives an annual scholarship for achievements in the field of “Education, Science and Technology”. He has prizes from contests, contests and Olympiads in literature and history.
Kalina Staykova, a student in the 9th “b” grade at the 1st SU “Sveti Sedmochiselnitsi” was awarded in the field of “Art and Culture”. Kalina is among the leading soloists of the ballet formation at CMDI and has received awards from ballet festivals and competitions.
In the “Sports” area, an annual scholarship was awarded to Tolga Abdurahmanov, a student in the 8th “c” grade at the 1st SU “Sveti Sedmochiselnitsi”. Tolga is part of the national team of the national gymnastics team and is a prize winner of a number of tournaments in the country and abroad.
BGN 25,000 have been earmarked in the municipal budget for the financial stimulation of children and young people with outstanding gifts in 2023.
