DVG “Singing Cats” will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a concert-performance on November 5, 2023. On the stage of the House of Culture “Boris Hristov” the talented vocalists will perform 11 hits, the author of which is their leader Nevena Kyuchukova – composer and songwriter of more than 150 children’s songs. Four of them make their debut on the Plovdiv stage. The newest song of the vocal formation will also be presented for the first time.
In addition to the “Singing Kittens”, 120 children from 5 kindergartens from Plovdiv – “Albena”, “Vira”, “Zora”, “Svetla” and “Sun” will appear on stage. They will present dances prepared to children’s hits from the repertoire of the vocal group.
Adult “Singing Kittens”, who are currently graduates of NUMTI “Dobrin Petkov” – Plovdiv, AMTII “Prof. Asen Diamaniev”, as well as stars of the music and dance arts related to the creative path of Nevena Kyuchukova. They will congratulate the small performers on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Plovdiv vocal formation.
Some of the former graduates of Nevena Kyuchukova, who has been working with children and writing for them for more than 50 years, continue to be involved in music, sing and play various musical instruments in England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, etc. countries around the world. They are concertmasters, conductors, opera and pop performers.
This year has been extremely successful for the vocalists of “Singing Kittens”. Among their stellar performances was the participation in the international art competition “Magia Italiana” in Italy, from where they returned with 5 prizes. They won the gold cup and impressed the authoritative jury with performances of songs in Italian specially prepared for the international festival. One of them – “Saltarella con la corda” – made its public debut. The talented children from Plovdiv demonstrated unique stage and technical preparation and were wildly applauded by music lovers. On the stage at the House of Culture on Sunday, the vocalists from “Singing Kittens” will perform three of the songs with which they presented Plovdiv in Italy and won gold medals from the prestigious music forum.
The “Singing Kittens” anniversary concert will feature lots of songs, dances and entertainment for the little ones. On the stage of the “Boris Hristov” House of Culture, the wonderful little performers have prepared surprises with which they will delight music lovers. The children’s show will take place from 11 a.m. on November 5, 2023.
The Singing Kittens is the first and the only author’s vocal group in the Plovdiv region for children from 3 to 8 years old. It was created by Nevena Kyuchukova, who composed over 150 children’s songs, poems, musicals. Its graduates worthily represent Plovdiv at national and international competitions and are laureates of more than 100 awards. Children from “Singing Kittens” have the privilege of being the first to perform the latest songs of the composer Nevena Kyuchukova and to record them in professional recording studios. They are also eagerly awaited by the children in the country. Some of the songs have been included in textbooks and aids for preschool and elementary age by “Prosveta” and “Bulvest 2000” publishing houses.
For her contribution to music, for the discovery of young talents, for the inclusion of children in art, for her many years of professional experience, Nevena Kyuchukova was recognized by the Union of Composers in Bulgaria, by teachers from AMTII “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” – Plovdiv, NMA “Pancho Vladigerov” – Sofia, PU “Paisiy Hilendarski”, Burgas Free University. He is the recipient of numerous awards. The last one is from Italy, where she was awarded priceGrand Maestro” as a composer, lyricist and leader of the “Singing Kittens” DVG from the international jury of the art festival “Italian Magic”.
