Plovdiv resident: I cut two tires on a hole in Kyuchka, the municipality should take urgent measures!

A resident of Plovdiv raised the alarm about a gaping hole in the pavement on “Skopje” Street in Kyuchuk Paris. He claims that he damaged two of his car’s tires due to the damaged road surface and advises drivers to drive through the perimeter with caution.

“Last night shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection with a traffic light next to the NRA and Mechanotechnikum in the direction of Kuklensko shose, thanks to the “generosity” and “support” of the paved road, I cut 2 tires of my car in the hole“, says Veselin Pepelanov to TrafficNews.

He appeals to the Municipality of Plovdiv to urgently take measures to repair the road infrastructure in the area, “because there are more than 10 cases per week because of the gap“.

Pepelanov also draws attention to the poor lighting at the intersection of “Skopje” street with “Buxton Brothers”. Given the nearby school, the issue of lighting and footpaths should be on the agenda.

“I hope for a quick response, because subsequently a flat tire can lead to loss of life“, concludes the Plovdiv resident.

In a comment before TrafficNews the mayor of the Southern region, Kostadin Yazov, said that when an opportunity becomes available, a team of workers will rearrange the paving stones in the square. According to him, the sections of the neighborhood closed for repairs have diverted traffic to other locations, one of which is Skopje Street, and this further damages its condition.

“There was such a problem a while ago, then they were rearranged. I expect soon with the next rains there will be displacements of the pavement again. I regularly pass this route and pay attention to where my tires land on my vehicle.” said the district mayor and called on drivers to also approach with caution.

Regarding the lighting, Yazov was adamant that without a budget in the region’s treasury, there is no way to plan future improvements. “If there is a burnt out bulb, it will be replaced. But a great improvement cannot be made, as I have no money for it“, added the regional mayor.

He expressed hope that after the opening of the entire “Dame Gruev” street, the new infrastructure will easily take over a large part of the traffic in Kyuchuk Paris.
