“Slaveykovtsi” collected BGN 7,777 in support of little Murad

Charity bazaars, in which all the students of Petko Rachov Slaveykov Secondary School are included, are being organized from November 2 at the school for champions to financially support the family of little Murad.

Yesterday, a large-scale charity school campaign was launched on the initiative of Denislava Belicheva – the class teacher of the 3rd grade, where Murad’s sister is studying.

The campaign will support the family of the student, who is a half-orphan, and her brother is in a serious health condition without a clear diagnosis.

According to information from the father, Gürcel Mehmed, who lost his wife last year, more than 20,000 euros are needed to carry out the necessary tests in Turkey and start treatment immediately. He is constantly in the hospital with his son and is looking for next steps to reach adequate medical care.

For this purpose, an initiative for charity bazaars was created in “Slaveykov” in the period 2-17 November in the school yard – every day from 15:00 to 17:00 there will be a bazaar of items (souvenirs, new clothes, toys, books and works made by students). The idea is for each class to get involved in the sale, by bringing items that will expand the items for sale in the innovation room, where from 9 to 10:30 a.m. students from the 11th grade – members of the Student Parliament – are on duty.

Each day one class is in charge of the bazaar, and the funds collected will be handed over directly to the father or paid into the newly opened donor bank account with IBAN: BG15BGUS91607011071000.

High school students from the ECO UPKO club, assisted by the Erasmus+ volunteers who are in “Slaveykov” for the whole school year, coordinate the campaign. The children’s charity movement “Helping Hand” will hold a culinary charity bazaar in the center of Kardzhali next week.

After the first call for help, all classes of SU “P. R. Slaveikov” began to collect funds in different ways. At the moment when Murad’s father came to Kardzhali for a short time between two hospital stays, the sum of BGN 7,777 was handed to him by the director Milko Bagdasarov with a promise that the whole school would not stop helping the family.

The students distribute donation boxes in commercial establishments in the Vazrozhdentsi district and in other places, and a list of the locations of the placed boxes will be published on the page of the Student Parliament at SU “P. R. Slaveikov”.
