This Saturday (November 4) from 11:00 a.m bTVthe new episode of “The taste of Bulgaria” will take viewers to a real garden of paradise where the rules of “permaculture” reign. What is “permaculture” and does it have a foothold in our country – the answer to this question will be given by the presenter of the culinary adventure Maria Zhekova, which this time will delight even the biggest fans of organic food.
“Permaculture” literally means “perpetual agriculture” or “perpetual cultivation”. It is an applied science for shaping agricultural systems as close as possible to natural ones. The individual elements in these systems are grown together – the products of one element are a resource for another, just as it actually is in nature. The idea of this farming method is to live in complete symbiosis with nature and take care of its preservation.
The leader of the adventure – Maria Zhekova, will visit the garden of a young family that “creates” agriculture according to the rules of permaculture, in order to understand the specifics of creating the so-called “edible forest”. Their garden is not accidentally called “paradise”, because the family grows a rich variety of fruits and vegetables in it.It is located in the village of Rosen, near the sea.
Inspired by the wonderful farm, Maria herself will select the fruits and vegetables grown in this nature-friendly way and with them she will prepare an appetizing “summer feast with Black Sea fish”.
“There is nothing accidental in nature. Everything is connected and participates in a single common process of development and improvement. And if we humans really learn from her centuries of experience, we will probably understand what we need to do to be in true harmony with nature.”the host will announce at the end of the episode.
