The regional governor honored the memory of the officers and soldiers who died defending Upper Jumaya

Today, a memorial service was held in front of the brother’s ossuary, located on the territory of the old cemetery park in Blagoevgrad, a military ritual and a ritual of laying wreaths and flowers were performed.

The district governor of Blagoevgrad district, Maria Dimova, bowed before the memory of the tens of thousands of Bulgarian soldiers who died during the Balkans, the First World War, in the struggles for national liberation and unification, in peacekeeping operations and in the performance of military duty in peacetime .

On the initiative of the Blagoevgrad Regional Administration, the tradition of Archangel Stew has been revived at the ossuary monument in Blagoevgrad, where the mortal remains of the immortal 581 officers and soldiers who gave their lives in defense of Gorna Jumaya were laid to rest.

Priests from the “Introduction of the Virgin” temple performed a funeral prayer, and military personnel from Military Formation 26400 performed a military ritual. A wreath was laid by the regional governor Maria Dimova.
