The Bulgarian national team for boys U14 recorded a second consecutive victory at the FIBA YDF project tournament in Skopje. The basketball players of Veselin Veselinov and Achilleas Zikas prevailed over Romania with 68:61 in their third game of the competition.
Already in the first half, they built up a double-digit lead, and after their lead reached 15 points, they led 39:29 at the break. There was a drop in their game in the third quarter, after which the opponent restored the tie – 51:51. By the end, however, the Bulgarians once again built up a solid lead, which this time they did not let go until the very end.
Kaloyan Marchev finished with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the success. Georgi Dimov has 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Our girls U14 team lost their game against Romania 62:69, making it two losses and one win.
Almost the entire first quarter went basket for basket, but at the end of it, Romania took a slight advantage and led with 25:17, and at the break, the opponent’s lead of 8 points was preserved. The difference jumped to 20 shortly after the break, but the basketball players of Lilia Georgieva and Teodora Petrova showed character and before the last part reduced it to 47:52. In the remaining time, the Romanians once again built up a double-digit lead, and despite the attempts of our girls for a turnaround, it was not possible.
