Fenerbahce suffered their first defeat of the season in all competitions, going down 3-2 at home to Trabzonspor in a match of the 11th round of the Turkish championship. It was also the first match that the team did not win during the campaign. Fenerbahçe’s previous loss dates from exactly five months ago – on June 4, 2023 with 0:3 against Galatasaray.
Trabzonspor missed a golden opportunity to defeat the Yellow Canaries after taking a 3-0 lead with goals from Paul Onuacu in the 10th minute, Berat Özdemir in the 46th and Nicola Pepe in the 47th. Dusan Tadic put Fenerbahce to shame with two penalty goals in the 61st and 90th minutes. Between the goals of the Serbian, Ismail Yuksek left Ismail Kartal’s team with a man less after receiving a second yellow card and a red card respectively.
This Fenerbahce defeat comes just before Ludogorets visit Huvefarma Arena in Razgrad in a match of the fourth round of the Conference League group stage. The match is on Thursday, November 9 at 10:00 p.m. The first match in Turkey ended with success with 3:1 for the Turks in the debut of Georgi Dermendzhiev.
