On November 03, 2023 at Les Hotel, Branch – Razgrad of the University of Ruse hosted the traditional two-day scientific conference with international participation, which is a continuation of the conference held the previous week at the University of Ruse under the title: “New industries, digital economy, society – projections of the future – VI”.
This annual scientific forum is organized jointly with the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria – Razgrad Branch, Regional Academic Center of BAS – Razgrad, Rotary Club – Razgrad and House of Science and Technology.
The scientific conference has started at the RU branch in Razgrad
The opening of the conference was attended by Mrs. Ivelina Ignatova – Deputy Regional Governor of Razgrad Region, Mrs. Habibe Rasim – Deputy. Mayor of Razgrad Municipality, Prof. Diana Antonova – Deputy. Rector of Ruse University, Mrs. Hriska Lukova, Chairman of the Board of DNT – Razgrad, many professors from various universities of the country, doctoral students, students, representatives of business and the media. The thematic areas of the forum were in the field of chemical technologies, biotechnology and food technologies.
After the opening of the conference by Adm. Director of the Branch – Razgrad Prof. Dr. Stanka Damyanova, two plenary reports were presented by Prof. Dr. Angel Smrikarov from the “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse on topic “The professions of the future (Professions with a future)” and to Prof. Dr. Rositsa Nikolova from the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on the topic “Hydrates and complexes of magnesium sulfates – synthesis, structure and properties”.
At the meetings in the two sections, 38 reports were presented with current scientific and production topics. Participants in the conference were professors, associate professors and researchers from Universities in Sofia, Burgas, Plovdiv, Varna, Sliven, Yambol, etc. Scientists from Ukraine also took part in the work of the conference. The professors from the Razgrad Branch work with a large number of them in common scientific projects. The meetings of the conference were also attended by representatives of companies from the region working in the field of the thematic areas of the scientific forum.
The authors of the best reports from both sections were awarded with a Diploma and a Crystal Prize The Best Paper of the Rector of Rousse University “Angel Kanchev”. The two awarded reports in the category for an established scientist are: “Ceramic pigments obtained by solid-phase synthesis” by Assoc. Dr. Rositsa Titorenkova from the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography of the BAS Sofia and “Storage stability, antioxidant and antilipid activity of an extract from the seeds of Pinot Noir grapes’.
In the category for young scientists and doctoral students, the following reports were awarded: “Antioxidant activity and chemical composition of extracts from the endemic plant Sideritis syriaca” presented by Dr. Anife Veli and a team from University “prof. A. Zlatarov” in the city of Burgas and on ch. Associate Professor Darina Georgieva University of Ruse Razgrad Branch on the topic “Application of alginates”.
