A runoff for the election of mayor will be held in the municipalities of Haskovo and Simeonovgrad.
IN Haskovo the current mayor Stanislav Dechev from GERB and the independent Nikolay Stavrev, nominated by the Initiative Committee and supported by 5 political formations, are fighting for the vote of the citizens.
IN Simeonovgrad for the mayor’s chair, the former mayor Milena Rangelova from GERB and Yanka Cholakova from BSP are arguing.
There will be a second round in 7 villages in Haskovo municipality.
In Vaglarovo the battle is between the independent Mr. Georgiev and Metin Eyub from the DPS. IN Squirrel they argue Danaila Atanasova from “There is such a people” and the former Evgeniy Trendafilov from GERB. IN A crooked field the contenders are Velko Atanasov from DPS and Milena Chausheva from GERB. IN Malevo the argument is between Delcho Vachev from “Vazrazhdane” and Mihail Mihailov from GERB. In a runoff in Librarian appear Ivan Slavilov from GERB and Nevena Racheva from “Bulgarian Voice”. IN Upper Vojvodina the battle is between Gogo Mladenov from DPS and Andon Andonov from “Bulgaria of the Regions”. IN Mandra residents will have to choose between Angel Mihailov from PP-DB and Nedyalka Kasabova from GERB.
Election day begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m. Today, citizens will also be able to vote by machine in some sections, unlike the vote in the first round, two days before which the CEC canceled machine voting. However, the decision was overturned by the Supreme Administrative Court. Thus, in 136 sections out of a total of 152 in the municipality of Haskovo, voting will be done either by paper ballot or by machine.
