Heavy rain and wind left thousands of households across the country without power. Hundreds of houses in northeastern Bulgaria were left without a roof after the storms.
Over 200 reports of accidents have been responded to by the employees of the DG “Fire Safety and Protection of the Population”. The strong wind and intense rainfall caused the most serious damage to the territory of the regions of Smolyan, Targovishte, Razgrad and Silistra. As of 5 p.m., 280 firefighters and rescuers, with 97 pieces of equipment, are involved in the removal of fallen roofs, poles and trees. There are no reports of injured people. A code orange for heavy rain and strong winds is in effect for the country. Increases in river levels are expected, warns the Ministry of Environment and Water.
IN Plovdiv 7 reports of fallen trees have been received. Trees have fallen on roadways in the villages of Beguntsi, Narechenski Bani and in the Karlovo area.
A partial state of emergency has been declared in the municipality of Devnya, Varna region. There is no electricity in the entire municipality, there are fallen sheet metal from roofs, fallen trees are being removed from the road.
The Varna regional administration informed BNR that if the power supply is not restored, machine voting in the village of Kipra will be provided by generators. In Varna region, three more villages are without electricity due to the storm – these are Levski, Kalimantsi and Prosechen in Suvorovo municipality.
A woman was injured after a tree fell and injured her in the parking lot of the City Garden in Noisy. According to initial information, the woman has fractures, she was taken to the regional hospital.
Two other people died as a result of the storm in the Shumen region. This was announced by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In Silistra Region a tornado passed through the villages of Dolets, Prohlada, Kolober and Sekulovo and as a result many roofs were damaged, poles and trees fell. Employees from RDPBZN – Dulovo participate in liquidation of accidents. There are no reports of injured people. The meteorological observatory said that the wind speed exceeded 20 meters per second. A meeting of the crisis headquarters to declare a partial state of emergency is forthcoming.
