In the Lovech region, the mayor of today’s runoff will be elected in the municipalities of Lovech and Teteven. In both, the election day started normally, so far there are no serious problems with the voting machines and reports of violations of the electoral code.
In the battle for Lovech, where they will have a new mayor, the GERB-SDS candidate Valentina Nedyalkova and Stracimir Petkov, nominated by the local coalition PP “Ima talovny narod” and PP “Bulgarski Vozhod”, stand against each other.
In 66 out of a total of 98 polling stations, voting is done by machines, and local residents expect a change in the management of the municipality from the new mayor:
“To be cleaner in the city, to be nicer, to have jobs. A new approach with more communication with people, better connection with people and walking among people and listening, something that until now wasn’t there”.
“The infrastructure, the streets of the city must be improved, the project for the water supply of Lovech must be done. Emphasis should be placed on a sports hall. There should be a pool for the children”.
“The most important thing for Lovech is to create new jobs. If there are no new investments, Lovech is dying”.
Madlena Boyadzhieva from PP GERB and Milen Milev are appearing in the second round for mayor of Teteven erected by PP “Movement forward Bulgaria”. 16,659 people have the right to vote in the municipality. They will be able to exercise their vote in 38 sections.
In 25 of which it will be possible to vote by machine.
In addition to the two municipal centers, there is also a runoff for mayor in 20 villages in Loveshka region.
