Mixed voting in the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo is held in 108 out of all 142 sections
The election process in Veliko Tarnovo region started normally at 07:00 on November 5.
In the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, all 142 SICs opened on time. By decision of the Central Election Commission, voting is also done by machines in the sections with over 300 voters. Mixed voting will be held in 108 of the sections on the territory of the municipality.
In the first round in the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, invalid ballots for the election of the mayor were 2%, and for councilors – 12.5%. Between the two rounds based on the proposals of the political formations, the Municipal Election Commission changed 55 members of sectional committees, half of them are in leadership positions.
On the election day, a runoff is held both for the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo and the city of Kilifarevo and the large villages of Samovodene and Ledenik.
In addition to the regional city, candidates for the post of mayor are also competing in the municipalities of Gorna Oryahovitsa, Pavlikeni, Lyaskovets and Elena.
In the railway town, the current mayor, Eng. Dobromir Dobrev, and the industrialist Nikolay Rashkov will fight for the post. In Pavlikeni, the runoff is between Eng.Emanuil Manolov and Tsanko Tsonev. In Lyaskovets, Vasil Hristov and Antonio Krastev are on “remedial probation”, and in Elena – Dilyan Mlzev and Petar Dimitrov.
In the first round last week, mayors were elected in Svishtov-Gencho Genchev, in Polski Trambesh-Georgi Chakarov, Strazhitsa-Yordan Tsonev, Zlataritsa-Peter Ganev and Suhindol-Plamen Chernev.
