A state of emergency has been declared by several settlements in the Silistre region. A large part of them remained without electricity and internet.
The Ministry of the Interior announced that a tornado passed through the villages of Dolets, Prohlada, Kolober and Sekulovo and as a result many roofs were damaged, poles and trees fell.
According to the residents of the village of Dolets, the hurricane wind turned into a tornado. Tiles were broken, roofs, trees, electric poles were knocked down in the district.
Nihal Shaban Ali: “Tornado what, we don’t know… 90% of the village, everyone is like that. Will there be people to help?”
Yuksel Ismail, i.d. mayor of Dulovo municipality: “We will apply to the interdepartmental commission for assistance to the victims.”
The electricity distribution company announced that more than 80 settlements in North-Eastern Bulgaria have a broken power supply. Secondary emergencies are possible.
