The President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev participated in the solemn meeting dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Higher School of Security and Economics (HSE) in the city of Plovdiv. In his address, he expressed his approval to the university management for the development of current and promising specialties, in line with modern challenges in the field of security and economy, BTA reported.
“You have made the right choice of specialties that meet the needs of the time,” emphasized Radev, alluding to the current topics of EU councils and other important international forums. The President emphasized the importance of trained specialists who can analyze and respond adequately to the dynamic changes and geopolitical challenges facing the world.
Radev emphasized on the importance of a holistic understanding of national security that goes beyond the traditional aspects of military and police protectionand includes economic stability, sustainable development and coordination between all sectors of government.
He also paid special attention to the situation in Ukraine, noting that the conflict there has turned into a war of attrition, which emphasizes the importance of logistics capacity and the management of economic resources in the context of national security.
During the solemn meeting dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the Higher School of Security and Economics in Plovdiv, President Rumen Radev commented on the role and responsibility of politicians towards the state and society.
S links between military and political duty, the head of state emphasized the sacrifice that fighter pilots make for their country during each of their flights. “Before every flight, a fighter pilot inevitably risks his life and the well-being of his family for the sake of the country and our society,” Radev said.
The president believes that Bulgarian politicians should show the same dedication and self-sacrifice: “Whether the Bulgarian politician does the same or the opposite, we have seen different examples.” He expressed hope that in the future the country will be able to count on more and more politicians who put the good of Bulgaria and society above their personal interests, just as fighter pilots put themselves.
