The chairman of the municipal election commission in the Danube city, Daniel Boyanov, informed about a curious case during the runoff in Vidin.
A voting machine stopped cutting receipts and then stopped working at all after being inadvertently disconnected from the power grid. According to Boyanov, a technician responded to the sectional commission’s signal and quickly fixed the problem.
The technician looked at the machine cable that was in the power strip. When he raised his head to see what was happening to the power strip – because it happened that someone turned it off to turn on their phone or simply tripped, the cord was standing centimeters from the outlet, and the outlet was empty.
This did not stop the machine from working at first, as the machine started on backup power, it worked for a while. But subsequently, she started cutting the receipts, which led to the intervention of the technician and the quick elimination of the problem.
This is the only signal of a problem with a voting machine in Vidin Municipality. There are no stopped machines, Boyanov also said.
