By noon on election day, November 5, 2023, dozens of citizens visited the regional office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs-Etropole, BTA reported.
They stated that they had lost their identity cards and because of this they were issued service notices so that they could go and exercise their right to vote. According to unofficial information, some of them have their personal cards held by local loan sharks.
In the week before the run-off, an unusual gathering of people was noticed around a quick loan office in Etropole.
Today, November 5, 2023, before noon, a camera operator, who happened to be around the building of the regional office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was threatened by a local businessman from the circle of “Gamblers” not to take pictures. The pre-election headquarters of the BSP in Etropole have expressed concern about the situation due to the possibility of manipulation of the election results.
Their candidate – Vladimir Alexandrov from the local coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” has submitted reports to the municipal election commission in Etropole, to the Minister of Internal Affairs, to the chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to the director of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications – Etropole and to the head of the regional office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Etropole.
In his complaint, Alexandrov asks to be provided with information on how many residents of the Etropole municipality were provided official notices with which they were allowed to vote and what percentage of these people’s ID cards were expired.
