London. World Travel Market /WTM/ is the largest trade fair for professionals in the travel industry and the second largest travel trade fair in the world after ITB – Berlin. In 2023, World Travel Market London will be held for the 43rd time. The premium partner of the exhibition this year will be the Kingdom of Morocco.
For the first time, the World Travel Market /WTM/ was held in 1980 in the London Olympia hall. For four decades, the exhibition has changed its vision and location, and since 2002, world business has gathered in the ExCeL center.
According to the official information published by the organizers of the World Travel Market, in 2022 more than 35,800 professionals from the travel industry visited the exhibition, which is twice as many as in 2021. The main type of visitors were – Global Travel Buyers. The number of “Buyers” has increased by 25% compared to 2021. This increase is a direct result of WTM’s continued efforts to attract an international audience to the world’s largest event for travel industry professionals.
Bulgaria’s stand at the tourist exhibition in Romania will have an area that is almost twice as large as the previous year.
In 2022, at the World Travel Market, over 55 ministers from around the world presented their destinations and took part in the ministerial meeting organized by the World Tourism Organization. The topic of the discussion was “Rethinking Tourism”.
This year, Bulgaria will be represented with a stand of over 304 square meters. in the Europe Hall. At the moment, along with the Ministry of Tourism, 23 representatives from the tourism sector have announced their participation at the Bulgarian national stand – Rila Travel Ltd., Bohemia Ltd., EN-Vision Services Group Ltd., Municipality of Varna, World Synergy Travel Bulgaria Ltd., AVATAR TOUR Ltd., Municipality Plovdiv. Through VR equipment and rich VR content in Bulgarian and English, the cultural and historical heritage of our country will be presented, e.g. the medieval masterpiece Boyan Church, Heraclea Syntika, Tsarevgrad of Asenevtsi, the Samovod Bazaar of Tarnovo, the Wine of Bulgaria, the Magic of a Cave Magurata, the Ancient Villa Armira, etc.
Bulgaria will be the guest of honor at the PHILOXENIA tourist exhibition
The Ministry of Tourism plans to organize presentations with tastings of selected Bulgarian wines. The emphasis is on the existing and developing wine destinations of Bulgaria. The guests of the Bulgarian stand will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the possibilities for wine and culinary tourism in North-Eastern Bulgaria, the Thracian Lowland and the Rose Valley, South Sakar, the Struma Valley, Western and
Central Danube Plain. Each of the regions will be presented with a quality wine typical of the terroir, as well as through their maps illustrating the wine routes and related tourist attractions and specifics. The presentations will take place from 12:00. and from 3:00 p.m. at the Bulgarian stand N6-210 on each of the three days of the exhibition and will present our country as a wine and culinary destination and a place for alternative, sustainable tourism in four seasons
