With one hundred percent processed protocols from the sectional polling stations, Ognyan Atanasov from the “Party of the Greens” won the runoff in Kyustendil with 68.63 percent and 15,319 of the voters’ votes. This is shown by the data on the website of the Municipal Election Commission in Kyustendil.
The new mayor of Kyustendil – Ognyan Atanasov is an engineer by education, municipal councilor for two terms. He is the vice-president of the Chamber of Engineers in investment design.
Petar Paunov from the local coalition GERB (PP, PP “Union of Democratic Forces”, PP “VMRO – Bulgarian National Movement”, PP “Agricultural People’s Union”, PP “Movement Bulgaria of the Citizens”, PP “Gergiovden Movement”, PP “Movement Democratic Action – DZ”, PP “Bulgarian Voice”, PP “Bulgarian Democratic Union “Radicals”, PP “Conservative Bulgaria Party”, PP “National Movement for Stability and Rise”, PP “Union of Patriotic Forces “Defense”, CP ” “Bulgaria of the Regions” ) came second at the final. He received 29.61 percent of the electoral vote, or 6,609 votes. Paunov has been mayor for four consecutive terms so far.
1.77 percent (394) voters marked “I do not support anyone” on the ballot.
