Alexander Sabanov is the new mayor of Silistra municipality according to one hundred percent processed protocols of the Sectional Electoral Commissions, announced the Municipal Electoral Commission.

The independent candidate leads in the vote of voters in the second round of the local elections with 56.21 percent of the votes. They voted for him 9231 of those entitled to vote. The candidate of PP GERB, People’s Representative Ivelin Statev, collected 6778 votes or 41.27% of all those who voted.

Sabanov said that he and his team have been waiting for this moment for 12 years.

Our first job is to check the financial situation of the municipality. We have many reports of corruption in recent years. We will do a full audit together with the Audit Office, the Economic Police, and the prosecutor’s office,” said Sabanov.

Bulgaria elected: CEC publishes interim results of local elections

Statev shared that in his opinion, he ran a fair campaign. Now the option before him is to return the National Assembly. He was adamant that he will help the municipal administration as much as he can, as he has done so far.

The election day in Silistra ended with 38.6 percent voter turnout. 16,692 people went to the polls.

Nevhis Mustafa is the new mayor of Dulovo municipality according to one hundred percent processed protocols of the sectional election commissions, the Municipal Election Commission announced.

The DPS candidate won the vote of voters in the second round of the local elections with 54.98 percent of the votes. 7,506 people voted for her. The candidate of PP GERB and former mayor Dr. Yuksel Ahmed collected 6,034 votes or 44.2% of all voters. “I do not support anyone” indicated 0.82 percent of those who voted.

Election day in Dulovo ended with 55.46 percent voter turnout. 13,897 people went to the polls.

Dr. Dimitar Stefanov won a fourth mayoral term in Tutrakan according to one hundred percent processed protocols of the Sectional Electoral Commissions, announced the Municipal Electoral Commission.

The candidate supported by PP GERB won the vote of voters in the second round of the local elections with 63.41 percent of the votes. 3,296 people voted for him. DPS candidate Nehat Kantarov collected 1,756 votes or 33.78% of all voters. “I do not support anyone” indicated 2.81 percent of those who voted.

Election day in Tutrakan ended with 40.5 percent voter turnout. 5271 people went to the polls.
