Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” has the most elected mayors of municipalities in the Plovdiv region – seven, out of a total of 18 municipalities. This is indicated by the results of the two rounds of the local vote, published on the website of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC).
In four of the municipalities they are in a local coalition. Four of the mayors will hold office for the first time, and the other three are re-elected. Next in number of elected municipal mayors is the GERB party with four, of which three were re-elected.
In the remaining five municipalities, different political parties and coalitions won. These are BZNS, coalition “Citizens’ Alternative”, SDS, PP “United Farmers”, DPS and local coalition SDS (GERB).
