In the village of Skobelevo, municipality of Lovech, a project under the EMP was implemented, which is worth BGN 15,000, announced the local mayor Suzana Yancheva. The project is called “Children in nature” and aims to improve the park space with suitable places for the youngest residents to play and for their parents to relax.
The other goal is to modernize the sports field. Some of the construction activities were paid for by the project, but most of them were carried out with voluntary labor. At different stages, more than 20 people got involved – men and women, who built foundations for two gazebos and a football bench. The covered bench will protect the children in case of rain, because the football field is located at the end of the village and there is no shelter nearby. In the future, it is being considered to organize a sports festival there with the participation of children from neighboring villages and from Lovech.
The new recreation area in the courtyard of the community center will be a center for celebrating various holidays. A pentagonal gazebo with stable construction and a roof made of bitumen tiles has been installed, there are eight seats and a round table. A children’s gazebo, a tennis table, a children’s tunnel and a “scale” swing for children have been installed.
The volunteers worked hard for two days with personal tools, leveling the ground, stiffening the formwork, bringing in and placing stones – for more stability. The intended concrete was poured by the supplier, and the men made sure it was level and smooth.
The residents of Skobelevo ennobled the yard of the “Prosveta 1934” public school. Three plants were planted. trees, 11 bushes and flowers, the plantations are watered regularly. Mulch (bark, sawdust, leaves, pine needles) is to be laid around them.
