The first solemn meetings with the swearing in of the newly elected municipal councils in the remaining six municipalities of the Vratsa region were scheduled by the regional governor of Vratsa, Nadya Donkinska. Sessions will be held as scheduled from November 9 to 13.
According to the Law, the first meeting of the newly elected municipal council shall be convened no later than 14 days after the announcement of the decision to elect a local parliament.
Newly elected councilors and mayors take an oath and sign an oath sheet in the presence of the regional governor or his representative, the chairman of the municipal election commission and citizens.
On the day of Vratsa, 09.11.2023, at 10:00 a.m., the mayor of the municipality of Vratsa, Kalin Kamenov, as well as the newly elected municipal councilors and the elected mayors of the populated areas of the municipality, will be sworn in before the regional governor.
From 14:00 on the same day, there will be the solemn session of the Municipal Council in Mizia, where the newly elected municipal councilors, the mayor of the municipality and the mayors of the town halls will take an oath and sign an oath in the presence of the regional governor.
In three of the municipalities, the sessions are scheduled for 10.11.2023, when the newly elected municipal councilors, as well as the re-elected mayors of the municipalities of Krivodol, Byala Slatina and Hairedin, will be sworn in, with the solemn meetings taking place at 10:00 a.m. in Krivodol, 11 :00 in Byala Slatina and 14:00 in Hayredin.
Next week, on 13.11.2023, at 11:00 a.m., the regional governor has convened the first meeting of the Mezdra Municipal Council, where, as in other municipalities, the municipal councilors and mayors will take the oath.
In the first session of the new local parliaments, a procedure for electing a chairman is also held. Prior to that, the duties were assumed by the oldest municipal councilor.
