UEFA have confirmed that the Euro 2024 qualifier between Bulgaria and Hungary will be played at the Hristo Botev stadium in Plovdiv in front of empty stands due to the risk of tensions escalating due to a fan protest against the BFS management.
Here is what UEFA wrote:
“We announce that the European qualification match between Bulgaria and Hungary will be played in front of empty stands in Plovdiv on November 16. The measures were agreed between all parties after an analysis of the information received by the Bulgarian authorities related to an increased risk of disruption of public order in and around the stadium.”
On UEFA’s recommendation: The national team is going to Plovdiv, the match with Hungary will be without an audience
