The election of municipal councilors in Blagoevgrad has been disputed with three appeals before the Administrative Court – Blagoevgrad. On the complaint of Zlata Rizova, candidate for municipal councilor from “MK VMRO-BND (BULGARIAN VOICE)” against the decision of the OIC – Blagoevgrad an administrative case has been opened. Arguments are put forward for incorrect determination of the municipal quota, incorrect determination of the number of mandates and incorrect distribution of mandates between parties, coalitions and local coalitions. It is claimed that the minutes of the sectional commissions reflect incorrect data.
On the complaint of Magdalena Pruteva, candidate for municipal councilor from the Coalition “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” against the decision of the OIC – Blagoevgrad an administrative case was also opened. The complainant contests the minutes of all SIKs as false. It provides arguments for an incorrect assessment of the authenticity of the ballots and an unrealistically high percentage of invalid votes. It is requested that the court completely cancel the decision of the Municipal Election Commission – Blagoevgrad as incorrect and declare as invalid the elections for municipal councilors held on 29.10.2023.
An appeal was also filed in the Administrative Court – Blagoevgrad by the Coalition “Continuing the Change – Democratic Bulgaria”. The complaint requests that the election result be verified by opening the sealed election papers and conducting a recount.
