Funeral Liturgy on the occasion of 11 years since the death of His Holiness Metropolitan of Sofia and Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim was celebrated in the capital church “St. Sunday”, reported the Holy Metropolis of Sofia.
With the blessing of His Holiness the Metropolitan of Sofia and Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte, the Holy Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Bishop Polykarp of Belogradchi, Vicar of the Metropolitan of Sofia, in conjunction with Archimandrite Basil, Protosignal of the Holy Metropolis of Sofia, Archimandrite Euthymius, spiritual supervisor of the Sofia Diocese, and others.
The church chants were performed by the men’s church choir at the metropolitan church, with the conductor Protopsalt Georgi Mikov.
Personal liturgical paraphernalia of Patriarch Maxim was placed in the temple, for his worthy commemoration.
At the end of the funeral services, Bishop Polycarp of Belogradchi gave a short speech in which he touched on important moments in the life of the late Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim.
