In continuation of her searches in recent years, the author mixes documents, historical facts and concrete images with fairy tales, pictorial impressions and visual metaphors.
In the central video, a fictional story unfolds, but it could also be true. The characters will hardly be the same, but their destinies are recognizable. Nadezhda Oleg Lyakhova does not hesitate to delve into history, as well as to look at the present through its prism and lessons. Obviously, for her there is no border between past and present. And no matter how much we try to turn our backs on one or the other, both unwaveringly catch up to us.
The central video, in which, in addition to the vision, the viewer is guided by the author’s voice, is surrounded by 4 projections. They correspond to the four seasons, which remind us of the cyclical nature of life and the inexorable passage of time.

The last almost static video frame, in which a ray of sunlight slowly passes through the archival photo – a momentary revival or a ray of long-lasting hope – can be considered a symbolic ending.
The opening of the exhibition will be on November 14 /Tuesday/ from 18:00 to 20:00.
