A 30-year-old man was found dead on the second floor of the disused building of the Botevgrad General Hospital. The tour of the place lasts for hours.
The man’s name is Danny. This is what his brother Ivan Georgiev, who is from Botevgrad but lives in Litakovo, told our reporter. He said that a police officer showed him a photo showing the corpse being disfigured.
Ivan Georgiev has no suspicions as to who could be behind this act, but he strongly hopes that the police will do their job, revealing the perpetrator.
“Years ago, at the Bus Station in Botevgrad, my father was beaten to death. To this day, no one has been caught, no one has been convicted of this crime. I hope the case with my brother doesn’t end the same way,” he added.
Ivan Georgiev works in a local logging company and was informed before noon by his boss that his brother was found dead in the disused building of the hospital.
“My brother is my sick subject. He had health problems, he drank. I tried many times to help him. I’ve been in a clinic for a while. Once he got out of there, everything was fine, but only briefly. Again he fell into a bad environment and became a victim of vices. I feel guilty that I was not able to divert him from the bad path”, shared Ivan Georgiev through tears. He says about himself: “I am married, I have three children who go to school. I earn my living in an honest way, with a lot of work, because I have a cause – and it is my own home for my family.”
The body will be taken to Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.
For years, the disused building of the hospital has become a haunt of homeless people, drug addicts and alcoholics. Their coexistence there can turn out to have fatal consequences for each of them, proof is precisely this case. It is also not safe for people who pass there during the dark part of the day. Therefore, urgent measures to limit access to the building are imperative.
