On November 3, a meeting of the Council on Social Services was held, as well as a public discussion, where the Analysis of the needs at the national level of social and integrated health and social services, which are financed in whole or in part from the state budget, was discussed. A proposal for a National Map of Social Services in the social services section at the municipal level was also discussed.
Directors of social services, representatives of the Regional Directorate “Social Assistance”, Directorate “Social Assistance”, Directorate “Labour Bureau”, representatives of RUO, RZI, RU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were present.
After the discussions, the Municipality of Sliven partially does not accept the Map regarding social services at the municipal level, the most important highlights being as follows:
1 – In the Map, in the point concerning residential care for persons of over-working age without disabilities, 21 places are planned, with which the Municipality does not agree and proposes that they become 30 in order to provide care for those waiting to use the service.
- In the point relating to integrated health and social services for residential care for elderly people unable to care for themselves with a need for permanent medical care, 13 places are planned in Map e, instead of 45, because the analyzes made clearly report that there are 48 users with an established need for ongoing medical care.
- With Assistant Support, the existing 278 places are set to become 778.
